ABOUT THE ARTIST
As a contemporary artist, Maura’s abstract style combines both organic and geometric imagery that is both representative and fantasy. Her paintings and collage mixed-media focus on the interaction between colors and the energy and feeling they create while creating movement and flow.
She studied art education/graphic design under John Nartker where she gained an interest in incorporating texture into her work. She also developed a color-theory course that focuses on the interplay between colors balancing light and dark values.
Her Fine Art works are currently displayed at Pendleton Arts Studio - Middletown, OH and have been displayed at Middletown Arts Center and Studio San Giuseppe (University of Mt. St. Joseph) and in an exhibit depicting non-violent protest and civil disobedience at Antioch University Midwest.
